NTAG Update: a good start to the year
07/05/08 21:10
A brief update on this year! We have had a good start
with meetings with Council, Traffic Department, Police,
Broadlands School, Herefordshire Voluntary Action. We
hope to finally see some changes in the area. We have
put in an objection to any further building work at the
colleges until the parking problems are resolved. We
have submitted our Traffic Plan, along with Broadlands
School re “Safety to School Scheme” and have been
assured that changes will take place this year.
We are working closely with the Council to try and improve the general area regarding rubbish, and cleaner streets. More rubbish bins have been requested. The six new ones are being used!! Watch out for details of our “Summer Pick” with rewards for the kids.
The Senior Citizens trip out to Hazelfield Nurseries went well with all enjoying themselves. The thank you card was much appreciated. Hopefully another trip can be arranged later on in the year, and also something for the kids.
This will be our last letter delivered around the whole area. Only paid-up members will receive a copy in future due to costs – updated news will be pinned on notice-board. Membership costs only £5 per household per year and we cannot operate without this funding. There are so many bodies to deal with. Thank you to all those who have joined again, and welcome to our new members. Please drop a letter into the Post Office if there is anything you think we should know about, or anything you want us to follow up.
If you would like to help us at all, i.e. distributing newsletters, helping out at events etc. then we would love to hear from you! Rome wasn’t built in a day. Please help us help you
“Community Spirit” comes to a street near you! Don’t forget to read the notice-board.

Litter/ fly tipping
07/05/08 21:08
Despite having 6 new bins put in place in the area,
there is still a lot of litter about. We hope to have a
“community litter pick” this year to tidy up the area.
We reiterate once again that the litter bins can be
used for dog mess so there is no need to see any about.
There have been instances of fly-tipping both from
residents and non-residents. Please let us know if you
see anything (anonymously if necessary) by letter
through the Post Office. It is an offence and comes
under the category of anti-social behaviour.
Traffic/ Parking
07/05/08 21:07
Meetings held with Traffic Management – Police –
Broadlands School re “Safe Route to School Plan”, plus
other traffic solving issues. We should have these in
place this year. Will be posted on our notice-board in
Post Office.
Police
07/05/08 21:07
At our last meeting it was reported that crime for this
area was down but had risen in Hampton Park/Gorsty
Lane. Recently, however, we have suffered a spate of
anti-social behaviour in our area which the Police and
N-T.A.G. are dealing with. Please ring in all incidents
to the Police and remember to ask for an incident
number. Inform us, and also the names and/or
descriptions of the offenders so that we can liaise
with the Police, and Herefordshire Housing who have the
power to move tenants and non-tenants away from the
area for persistent anti-social behaviour.
